We will supply and fit a replacement LCD unit to your Astra-K's infotainment system after it has failed/failing.

A common issue with the Astra-K model is the navigation screen will fail, symptoms include half the screen turning a solid colour such as green, flashing, and then the screen will eventually totally fail.

The radio will still play however and the screen will physically still respond to touch input, this often leads to accidentally changing the language of the vehicle.

The main dealer will quote around £1,250 for a replacement screen as they are unable to replace the components individually, whereas we have direct contacts with the supplier of the LCD panels and are able to replace just the failed component, rather than the entire button assembly.

The issue occurs on all model Astra-K's to an inferior LCD supplier being used, we fit a higher quality component resulting in a the fault being completely rectified, we back this with a lifetime warranty.


Can I post my screen to you instead?

Yes - if you wish to remove the screen assembly and post us it, we will repair, test and ship back the unit for no extra cost. Please contact us for this service.

The day before arrival we will contact you as a reminder of the appointment, please ensure you give us at least 24 hours notice for cancellations, "no show" appointments will be blacklisted from any further work, this is due to the high demand for appointments.

On the day, we ask that you ensure your car interior is clean.

What can I do during the fitting?


Greggs

Accross the road from or workshop there is a Greggs with indoor seating available, you are able to sit and have a coffee while we work on your vehicle.

Waiting with the vehicle

You are more than welcome to wait with the vehicle while we carry out the work, please note due to insurance purposes however you cannot enter our workshop.

Toilet Facilies

There are public toilet facilies available on the right hand side of the Mercedes-Benz Specialist workshop.

What warranty is offered with the replacement screen?

Every screen we fit comes with a lifetime warranty, limited to the current owner of the vehicle at the time of fitting.

If I have the screen replaced, will it happen again?

The reason only 16/17 year Astra-K models fail is due to the screen being manufactured poorly by a specific company, from 17 registration onwards this supplier changed and the issue seems to have disappeared, it is the later-type screens we supply so it is extremely unlikely it will occur again.
